David Crooks is an experienced trial lawyer who enjoys a broad and varied background. In his role as a litigator, David Crooks always remembers he has been given the privilege and responsibility of fighting his client’s legal battles with their own financial resources. As a result, he employs a mixture of logic, reason and creativity to prevail for his clients in the most cost-effective manner possible. “Sometimes that means going to trial and other times it means finding a unique angle to push for a favorable settlement,” David says, “but it always means working harder, smarter and more efficiently than the lawyer on the other side.”
David is a Dallas native who experienced much of the world prior to returning to the Dallas area. He attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, where he played varsity football and rugby and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Composition in 1991. During college, David lived and worked in New York City, studied at two Australian universities and attended a program in international business and law in Innsbruck, Austria. Prior to completing his law degree at the University of Texas, David worked for several years in the restaurant business, clerked for the litigation section of a large Southern California law firm and co-managed pro bono aid to local artists and musicians in Austin, Texas. David currently serves on the Greenhill School Alumni Board. In his personal time, David enjoys SCUBA diving, mountain biking and alpine skiing.
